Free kit · 2026 data

Prepare your Spain packaging declarations for 2026 data.

A workbook, a calculator and a calendar to turn your 2026 Spanish sales into the kilograms and tonnes by material that your scheme and MITECO ask for.

Key dates for 2026 data

Before 28 February 2027
Scheme (SCRAP) declaration, on your scheme’s portal and template.
2 January to 31 March 2027
MITECO annual information for the Producer Register. It cannot be filed before or after this window.
Two filings

One dataset, two separate declarations.

Royal Decree 1055/2022 asks packaging producers to report to their scheme and, separately, to send annual information to MITECO. Both start from the same figures: the units of each packaging component placed on the Spanish market during the year, and their weight by material.

Scheme (SCRAP) declaration MITECO annual information
When Before 28 February, on the scheme’s own calendar. Window from 2 January to 31 March 2027 for 2026 data, confirmed by MITECO each year.
Where The scheme’s producer portal, usually with its spreadsheet template. MITECO’s electronic office: normal procedure, or simplified procedure below 15 t a year in defined cases.
What Weights and units by material, flow and use, in the scheme’s categories. Some schemes also ask for plastic colour. By category and responsibility system: packaging type, units, material, weight in tonnes to two decimals and, for plastic, recycled content.
Calculadora

From components to tonnes by material.

Add one line per packaging component. Nothing leaves your browser; the workbook does the same calculations offline.

Totals by flow and material

Indicative calculation. Your scheme’s template and MITECO’s form may use their own lists of packaging types and materials; map each line to them before filing.

What to count

Every component, every unit, Spain only.

  • Every packaging component counts: product box, bottle, cap, label, insert, void fill, mailer and shipping carton.
  • Units first placed on the Spanish market from 1 January to 31 December 2026, including any period before your registration.
  • Full-year actual units, not a projection or a running total from January.
  • Spanish sales only, across every channel: marketplaces, your own store, wholesale and distributors.
  • Household packaging generally reaches consumers; commercial and industrial packaging stays with businesses.
  • For plastic, the recycled content: the MITECO form asks for it.
  • The source of every weight — supplier specification, weighed sample or estimate — kept with the declaration.
Questions
Is the MITECO annual information the same as the scheme declaration?
No. The scheme (SCRAP) declaration follows your scheme’s contract, portal and calendar. The annual information to MITECO is a separate submission for the Producer Register. The same dataset can feed both, but one does not complete the other.
Which period does the 2026 declaration cover?
Packaging first placed on the Spanish market from 1 January to 31 December 2026, including any period before your registration. Use full-year actual units, not a projection.
Can I use the simplified procedure?
Below 15 tonnes of packaging a year, MITECO offers a simplified procedure in defined cases. Its manual describes it for producers established in Spain, so a foreign producer filing through a representative should confirm the route before filing. It is a reporting route, not an exemption from registration.
Official sources

General information, not legal advice. MITECO and each scheme confirm their own procedures and dates every year.

Prefer to hand it over?

Annual declarations are included in our active packaging plans: we reconcile the data, you approve the figures before anything is filed.
